Bike Forums - 1988? Fuji Tiara rgver 06-23-13 10:35 AM I world say $200 is a very fair price on a upper mid level Japanese bike like the Premis from the 80's fully serviced RTR with new consumables. The subject bicycle is definitely the 1988 model. Even with Chorus, the proper freeweel and chain, Syncro II was only OK but it can get downright nasty trying to get things to work with non-OEM freewheels and chains . As said $200 would be below market for one with nice paint in a medium or small size. From what I could gather via a google search it seems that it was a top of the line touring race bike. I put about 5000 miles on the bike in the first few years I had it, but my biking died down and the years have passed by way too quickly. The decals more closely match the Black Lightning pictured in Cannondale's 1987 catalog (linked below for reference). 1988 Schwinn Prelude - $200? I've been looking into my first road bike and was considering something vintage to get into cycling on local roads and paths without investing a lot of money (in case I don't stick with it). . I've been riding the Cannondale a lot more as of late and even more so because I picked up a great trainer. These make for very nice riders and were basically the the nicest of the mass produced Schwinn's from the 80's. At least, you can parked the 1988 Univega next to the 1986 Diamondback and noticed the huge difference in head tube angles. I've had a few sports injuries over Judging from the serial number, the bike is a 1988 production 54cm aluminum frame with chromoly fork. It's got the 2nd generation Syncro shift lever and the freewheel has been swapped for one with a larger range, so the shifting performance is anybody's guess. Feb 26, 2011 · A friend gave me an old Specialized Street Stomper, blue color, model year 1987 (?), 1988 (?) or 1989 (?). Folks, I'm brand new to this forum and the original owner of a white Cannondale I bought way back when in 1988. The bike has a triple chainring and a 6-speed cassette. I like to restore it with as much original parts as possible, does anyone have the specs for this bike or perhaps an old Specialized catalog with the specs. With the diamondback you can definitely feel the "cruiser" heritage, but the Univega feel much more like a road bike. Are there any websites that has old Specialized catalogs from the late 1980 1988? Miyata 1200 I think I just got what I think is an 88 Miyata 1200 from my grandpa, and I have no idea of anything about it but would like to learn.
